Learning the times tables can be tricky! There are many different strategies that can be used to help your child master multiplication. Repeated addition, equal groups, number lines, and arrays are all excellent strategies. Times table tricks and math games can also help and are a lot of FUN. Take a look below for a nine times table trick.

Have your child or student use their times table tricks to practice the SEVEN and EIGHT times table.   Here is a worksheet for the six times table. Remember to check out my math tricks & other fun stuff page for new strategies to help remember the six times table.  Check out this cool math trick for the eleven times table. When you multiply a two digit number by eleven, simply add the digits of your number together and place the sum of the digits between the digits of your number. This works for two digit numbers where the sum of the digits is nine or less. For numbers where the sum of the digits is larger than nine just carry the one over to the tens digit. Challenge yourself by multiplying different two digit numbers by eleven.  A great way to practice the times tables is with a multiplication table. Multiplication tables help with memorization and can also allow your child to recognize multiplication number patterns. Ask your child to fill in the entire table!  Practice makes perfect. Multiplication can be a very difficult concept to grasp. As your student practices it will get easier and easier. In time their confidence will grow and they will be inspired to learn new concepts.  |
